When it’s our time to depart from this world, what legacy do we want to leave behind?

As a Muslim, it’s our responsibility as an ummah to think of those who come after us. 

The legacy that we leave behind can come in many forms—knowledge, charity, or any good deeds that will provide continuous benefits to others. 

After all, these deeds will also help ease our journey in the hereafter, by the mercy of Allah (s.w.t.).

As the Prophet (s.a.w.) said,

“When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).”

(Riyad as-Salihin)
