Husnul Khatimah: Lessons of Hope and Devotion

Husnul khatimah translates to “beautiful closure”, and it is often used to talk about a person’s ending in life. We have heard stories of other people’s deaths—some of them are beautiful, and some of them are, na’udhubillah, hard for us to imagine. While we can’t objectively dictate whether one’s ending is good or bad, there are many signs that a person has achieved husnul khatimah.

One of them is when a person gets to recite the shahadah. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) said,

“He whose last words are ‘there is no God but Allah,’ will enter Paradise.”

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

So, how can we better prepare ourselves to create a beautiful ending to our life story? What can we learn from others who have achieved husnul khatimah, so we can attain it ourselves?

Join Shaykh Wael Ibrahim in his upcoming seminar, Husnul Khatimah: Lessons of Hope and Devotion, as we explore the concept of “beautiful closure”, reflect on the stories of the dead, and most importantly, create our own husnul khatimah.
